Christian and Workplace Sexual HarassmentHave you ever seen a lady being sexually harassed by her boss in movies? If you were like me, sometimes you get angry and imagine several scenarios of what you would do if you ever find yourself in that situation. “Oh, I will give him the greatest ignominy of his life and risk losing my job”, you might say.

All of these are just your mere imaginations. But in reality when faced with this challenge, you are left disoriented because it only existed in your head; you never taught it could really happen to you. Do you shout on him, insult him, quit your job or raise an alarm so everyone in the office could be aware of what is going on?

You may not be able to do all that and risk getting fired especially if it’s a job you love or the job of your dream. Your response can Only bring about two things; it’s either you get fired or the boss ensures that the workplace becomes hell on earth for you. Though, it is not easy, No matter how upset you get the fact still remains that he is your boss. If you make an uninformed decision of quitting, what assurance do you have the same incidence will not reoccur? Are you going to run from that job too? Do you keep running because one man decides to throw his moral values into the gutter and disrespect his family by trying to have an affair with you? No way!

You cannot give in or give up like that, I think trying to talk to him in a conservative manner like: ‘’ Sir, I respect and hold you and your wife to a high esteem. Please, don’t throw all these and the respect I have for you away....”

As much as it depends on you, always avoid being alone with him and seek the advocacy of those who are matured that you feel free to communicate any issues with. You might try to investigate if anyone else in the office has been harassed by the boss before. From this you’ll be able to establish if it’s habitual or not. If it is habitual, I must tell you that the above ‘conservative’ talk might not work.
Let your No mean No! Both in deeds and in words. it should be pronounced enough.

The one sure option that has never and will never fail is God. Take the matter to God. There is nothing you take to Him with faith that will not be resolved. Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything too hard for Me?” - Jer 32:27

The person that God cannot change is not yet made. The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as are the watercourses; He turns it whichever way He wills.” - Pro 21:1

Sincerely pour your heart to God.

Sometimes the solution might be to leave. Whether you quit or not, step aside and let God lead the way and I believe that you won’t be disappointed.   CF
