faithfulness
We live in a frenzied world where seemingly strange things occur every day, and we ask ‘how long will people continue in their evil deeds?’  It is disheartening to know that we still have ladies that can snuff the life of their babies even when they know there are other options. As is in the case of a Chinese baby found alive in a sewage pipe, after he had been deliberately flushed down the toilet. One cannot but wonder what was going on in the mind of the mother of that child while flushing down a live baby. Why would a woman even want to kill a child she has gradually nursed in her womb for nine whole months?
Have you ever pondered on the level of immorality, corruption and injustice in the world today? Gay marriage is not legalized in Nigeria but that doesn’t mean it’s not being practiced. What about other countries that has legalized such things?

Many Christian ladies have deviated from their faith and gone after other gods (the bible says there is no other name that can save except the name of Jesus). Many have gotten married to those that don’t share the same faith with them. What happened to the Christian values our parents toiled day and night to embed in us? What went wrong with our light or have we forgotten so soon that we are the light of the world and that darkness cannot over shadow light?

Some ‘Pastors’ have become bad examples of men of God. Most of them are now after money. Some are now politicians, so full of themselves forgetting that all the glory belongs to God. We can no longer be entirely sure that our little ones are safe with some of these pastors, because most have become victims of molestation.
Most marriages have resulted into divorce because people are just eager to get married turning blind eye to the sensitive and negative signs they receive before tying the knot. I heard of a wedding that went sour, one of the couple was upstairs while the other was down and both were throwing wraps of Amala at each other with verbal insults while the guests remained dumbfounded.

Many have lost their focus on God by going after miracles; they have left their place of worship and are seeking for places where they will see miracles happen. One of my neighbours follows a particular prophet to any village he goes to, he abandons his wife and three kids to run after miracles and when he comes back everyone gathers to listen to stories. What baffles me about the prophet is that whenever he leaves a place there is so much confusion because he would have labeled some naive people witches and you see families fighting among themselves because of these. How quick we have forgotten that the veil has been torn, we now have direct access to God to whom we can confidently say ‘Abba father’ and we shall perform signs and wonders.

So, with all these happenings, something struck me from the book of Ecclesiastes 1: 8-11
‘’ ... Our eyes can never see enough, our ears cannot hear enough’’
What has happened before will happen again.
There is nothing new in the whole world, it has happened before long before we were born.
Wow! Can you imagine that, all of these things and many more that you could remember have gone wrong had all happened before? I remember the immorality in Sodom and Gomorrah, Tamar that was raped by her step brother, Cain’s hatred for Abel. All of these are the re-occurrence of the past and the scripture stated that it will happen again generation after generation. But, there is a noteworthy thing I implicit here; despite all these, there were those who were found faithful to God.
Lot and his daughters were righteous and they were saved for that, that means no matter how tough and evil the world gets, there are those ‘few’ that God will find faithful.
The important question is, ‘will you and I be found among the faithful’, among those that will not twist the word of God to suit their desires, hate corruption to the core, and determined to resolutely keep their bible-based principles.
All it takes is determination to stand out from the crowd and truly live the life of God in us.

Remember, if we dare not to be different, we will fail to make a difference. CF
