For I received from the Lord Himself that which I passed on to you [it was given to me personally], that the Lord Jesus on the night when He was treacherously delivered up and while His betrayal was in progress took bread,
And when He had given thanks, He broke [it] and said, Take, eat. This is My body, which is broken for you. Do this to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance.
Similarly when supper was ended, He took the cup also, saying, This cup is the new covenant [ratified and established] in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink [it], to call Me [affectionately] to remembrance. I Cor. 11:23-25 (AMP)

Apostle Paul received the passage above personally from the Lord. This can ONLY transpire in a place of spiritual union with the Lord.
We need to really go back to the place we first began (the place of our first Love). It takes being in relationship with the Father to see the revelation of the great and wonderful things He has in store for us.

Our Lord Jesus Christ related the bread of His supper to His body which has been broken for our sake. And the blood, shed for our sake. The best He could do was to ‘Give’ it to us to eat and drink. This is a call into communion (spiritual union) with the Lord. Do this in my remembrance is like saying ‘when you eat this, remember the way I represented my Father here on earth and do same’,  or simply put, ‘walk in my step.’

We have received a call into a Christ-like lifestyle. It is amazing to see many Christian today living like the Corinthians in the time of Apostle Paul; taking the Holy supper irreverently. Some has reduced it to daily, weekly or monthly exercise for the purpose of protection or “breakthrough” ONLY. They fail to realize that that the communion does not make you righteous, rather, it is a reminder of the reason you are righteous or must be holy.

If Christ ONLY died to deliver us from the devil, then is death will be in vain.
If Christ ONLY died to give you a good job, riches, wife and so on, then His death will be in vain.
Jesus Christ died and rose to bring us back to our Father in heaven and restore back the intimacy just as it was in the Garden of Eden before the fall of man.

All these are the benefits we enjoy when we daily stay connected to His death and resurrection. “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.” – Matthew 6:33 (AMP)

Any seeker or an explorer will tell you that to ‘seek’ is not an effortless or diminutive mission. As a geologist, we spend most of our time on the field navigating our way through diverse terrains in search of a particular rock type, mineral, or even tracing a geological structure, as the case may be.
To be a successful geologist, you must be disciple, unwearied, strong, observance, optimist and so on.

Likewise, to seek the kingdom of God, Christians need all of these qualities. He knew that the cross will be heavy, but he asked us to carry it anyway daily and follow Him; walking in His step. Knowing fully well that as long as He remains the focus in our lives, we won’t be aware of the weight of the cross.

Are you lost, confused, or seems not to be able to find your bearing in life? I want you to know that the debt has been paid. All you have to do is to come back to God and align yourself with that that has been done for you before you were born.

The primary purpose of the Holy supper is to keep Jesus Christ the focus of our lives.
So, the next time you eat of the bread and drink of the wine, ask yourself, ‘am I truly One in body and spirit with Christ?’ “For if we searchingly examined ourselves [detecting our shortcomings and recognizing our own condition], we should not be judged and penalty decreed [by the divine judgment].” I Cor. 11:31 (AMP)

Eat this and remember me. CF
